After an initial evaluation, potential clients are invited to join an individual program tailored to their needs. Each client's needs are addressed in a unique manner, using humanistic communication theory and process based therapy. Process therapy is the discovery of underlying thoughts, feelings, and processes that are the basis for behavior. It is an interactive therapeutic technique, with the therapist inviting the client into introspection. Goals are set by the client with assistance of the therapist. Therapy is usually conducted on a weekly basis. The therapy is conducted on a time frame of a 50 minute hour.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is tailored specifically to the client's unique situation. In this kind of therapy, the client develops a one on one relationship with the therapist, building a nurturing, safe environment to learn and develop. The therapist and client are free to work on specific difficult areas, and to monitor progress.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is a dynamic approach to therapy, in which each participant has a contribution to make to the overall discussion. In the couples setting, each participant is an essential part of the partnership, each with a unique story. The therapy offers the opportunity to explore and express the dysfunctional patterns of behaviors that seem to over-ride choices.
A client may attend both individual and couples therapy concurrently. Couples therapy may be considered a supplement to individual work.
